Ten days before the most beautiful and prestigious cars in the world were set to go on display at Pebble Beach, Bentley found out that the custom wheel stands they ordered from the UK were not going to be ready in time for The Concours d’Elegance.
We received a call from Centigrade, Bentley’s PR agency with an office in Birmingham, to see if we could find a solution. Centigrade had a few pictures of a similar stand from a showroom in Europe that housed an iPad, rather than the single sheet of paper ours would hold. Also, instead of being on the showroom floor, we had to design stands that would be setup outside in the potentially windy conditions of Pebble Beach. To meet the deadline, we were able to re-purpose 20 lb. chrome stands that ended up looking as if they were built just for this purpose.
Factoring in shipping time, we had seven days to design, manufacture, crate, and ship 13 of these precious wheel stands from Detroit to Monterrey. A true collaborative effort ensued, pulling in every skill from all departments. By remaining calm and focused on the task at hand the team at Display Group, once again, rose to the challenge.
Since 1991, Display Group has succeeded under two very simple ideals: To deliver the Highest of Quality, with the Best of Service. This project proved that Display Group continues to hold true to these founding principles, but also, that we can do it with a condensed timeline and everything on the line.
Special thanks to Centigrade for bringing us in to be a small piece of such a fantastic event.
