Book Tower Concert, Decor & Reception
In 2023, after a 7‑year, $300+ million restoration, Bedrock Detroit invited the city to celebrate the grand reopening of the Book Tower with “Celebration in the City” on August 2. The event unified three distinct experiences—and Display Group was there for all of them.
First, the public celebration at street level featured live performances by Miguel and the Detroit Youth Choir, a pop-up artisan market, local food trucks, historical exhibits, and interactive installations. Display Group’s audio, visual, lighting, and rigging teams powered the performance stages and immersive elements, while our custom fabrication crew delivered décor, branded structures, interactive features, and scenic elements.
Second, we created spectacular photo opportunities and visual focal points—most notably the now‑iconic Movement-style sign variations and one-of-a-kind sculptural installations designed to engage guests and frame the moment.
Finally, a VIP reception on the 13th floor lent an elevated experience. Display Group transformed the space into an elegant, event‑ready setting, outfitting it with custom finishes, lighting design, décor, and seamless integration with the rest of the festivities.
From sidewalk to skyline, Display Group’s full‑service approach turned the Book Tower celebration into a multi‑layered event that honored Detroit’s past while spotlighting its bright future.
