On-Site Service Technician

Display Group is seeking an On-Site Service Technician to join our exciting, growing business! As an On-Site Service Technician, this individual will assist our on-site team in servicing those contracts. This is NOT a Help Desk or Customer Support role handling calls for Network, Desktop, or other IT issues. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. 

Role and Responsibilities: 

Provide setup and strike of A/V equipment, such as microphones, projectors, lighting control, ATC hardware for meetings and events 

• Work with client to provide AV quotes for meetings and events 

• Work with stakeholders to understand event requirements, scope, and objectives and to provide recommendations for best practices 

• Communicate with clients, review their AV order, and carry them through the event with professionalism. 

• Troubleshoot to find solutions for AV problems on the fly, find the best method to service multiple events without direction, Coordinate and communicate with co-workers to achieve event goals, staffing and equipment logistics. 

• Monitor and track assigned event project progress and proactively handle any issues 

• For larger events, work with producers and directors on the execution of AV, sets, and props as needed 

• Provide additional support from the main office and freelancers 

Prerequisites: 

Exceptional customer service skills 

• Thorough knowledge of audiovisual (AV) event production technology and subject matter 

• Previous experience with In-House AV service preferred 

• Minimum of 2-year experience in the Live AV Event industry 

• Understanding of digital audio, video and lighting equipment (Blackmagic, Midas, etc.) 

• Experience in Flex or a similar program 

• Willingness to be flexible, work extra hours as needed 

• Has a great team attitude and is detail oriented 

• CTS certification a plus, but not required
